Grambling State University Athletics

Shakyla Hill was selected the Grambling State University Female Athlete of the Week.

Hill earned the 2018 Toyota Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament Most Valuable Player after helping guide Grambling State to its first tourney title in nearly 20 years.
 
The Little Rock, Ark. native nearly posted a double-double in points and rebounds against Alcorn State, Texas Southern and Southern. She averaged 24.0 points, 9.7 boards, 6.7 assists and 6.3 steals, along with shooting 50 percent (28-of-56) from the floor in the three victories.
