Sports Operations Interns (Multiple Positions Available)

Position Overview:
Grambling State University Athletics is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Sports Operations Interns to support the operational aspects of our athletic programs. This internship offers hands-on experience in sports management and event operations, providing an opportunity to contribute to the success of our athletic department.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the planning and execution of athletic events, including home games, tournaments, and special events.
  2. Coordinate facility usage schedules, oversee setup and breakdown of equipment, and address any facility-related issues as they arise.
  3. Provide support for game-day operations including breakdown and set up.  
  4. Assist with inventory management of athletic equipment, uniforms, and supplies. Coordinate the distribution, collection, and maintenance of equipment for athletic teams, ensuring proper care and storage.
  5. Assist with tracking expenses and maintaining budgets for athletic events and operations. Help reconcile invoices, process payments, and track expenditures to ensure financial accountability.
  6. Provide general administrative support to the sports operations team, including filing documents, organizing records, and preparing reports. Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by department leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Grambling State University, with a strong interest in sports management or event planning.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative to complete tasks independently.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support athletic events and operations.
