Position Overview:
Grambling State University Athletics is seeking proactive and detail-oriented Ticket Office Interns to assist in various administrative tasks within the ticketing department. This internship offers valuable experience in sports management and event operations, providing an opportunity to contribute to the success of our athletics program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with ticket sales for various athletic events, including football, basketball, and other sporting events. This may involve processing orders, answering inquiries from patrons, and providing information about ticket availability and pricing.
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons purchasing tickets in person, over the phone, or online. Address any concerns or questions regarding ticketing policies, seating arrangements, and event details.
- Accurately enter ticket sales information into the ticketing system. Maintain organized records of transactions, including sales reports and inventory tracking.
- Assist with the coordination of game-day operations, including ticket distribution, will-call ticket management, and ensuring smooth entry for fans into the venue.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote upcoming athletic events and ticket sales initiatives. Help distribute promotional materials and participate in outreach efforts to increase ticket sales and attendance.
- Provide general administrative support to the ticket office staff, such as filing documents, organizing office supplies, and responding to emails.
- Assist with on-site ticketing operations during home games and special events. This may include staffing ticket booths, managing guest lists, and troubleshooting any ticketing issues as they arise.
- Learn various aspects of ticket office operations, including box office management, ticket printing, and seating arrangements, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the ticketing process.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Grambling State University, with a strong interest in sports management, business administration, or related fields.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and database management.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
