Marshawn Taylor was named the Grambling State University Male Athlete of the Week.
Taylor, who was named the SWAC Hitter of the Week on Monday, had a huge week at the plate in leading the Tigers to a 3-1 record, including taking two of three from Texas Southern in SWAC play. He batted .647, with a .700 on-base percentage and a .706 slugging percentage. The Chicago, Ill. native went 11-for-17 with eight runs scored and seven RBIs. Also, he Taylor recorded one down, two walks, two stolen bases in the four games.
During the weekend series against Texas Southern, Taylor batted .692, with a .733 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. He went 9-for-13, with seven runs scored and three RBIs.
