Grambling State University Athletics

Marshawn Taylor was selected the Grambling State University Male Athlete of the Week.

Taylor, who was named the SWAC Hitter of the Week and Louisiana Sports Writers Association Hitter of the Week on Monday, batted .643, with a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.071 slugging percentage in three SWAC games last week. He went 9-for-14 at the plate with a team-high 10 RBIs and four runs scored. Taylor registered three triples, including when the bases were loaded in an 18-11 10th-inning victory. Also, Taylor drew two walks during the week. Defensively, Taylor had six assists.
