Shakyla Hill was named the Grambling State University Female Student-Athlete of the Week.
Hill, who earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week, College Sports Madness SWAC Player of the Week, Louisiana Sports Writers Association and BOXTOROW National Player of the Week honors, averaged 23.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and 73.9 percent from the foul line. Versus Texas Southern, Hill posted her second triple-double in a seven-day span, scoring 19 points while grabbing 11 rebounds and dealing 10 assists.
She followed that effort with a 28-point, eight-rebound, seven-steal effort against Prairie View A&M, adding three assists and a pair of blocks. Hill made the game-winning bucket with 10 seconds left, sealing the 64-63 Grambling win with a blocked shot on the Lady Panthers’ final possession.
