Jason Alvarez was named the Grambling State University Male Student-Athlete of the Week.

Alvarez helped snap a two-game losing streak and a four-game slide in the SWAC with a complete-game five-hitter. He fanned nine, walked three and surrendered two in nine innings to improve to 2-1 on the season.
