NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Grambling State University women's bowling team opened the 2018 season over the weekend at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational, hosted by Tulane.

The Lady Tigers went 1-12 during the weekend as Grambling State picked up a 4-0 victory over Alabama A&M during Round Play on Sunday afternoon.

Grambling State began the weekend with losses to Alabama State, Sam Houston State, Texas Southern, North Carolina A&T State and Florida A&M in Baker Format play and dropped traditional matches to UAB, Valparaiso, Jackson State, Southern and Alabama A&M on Saturday.

Laurencia Harmon led Grambling State with a 178.2 total pinfall average in the five traditional matches on Saturday, as she rolled a season-best 206 against Jackson State.
Ariel Henderson finished with a 149.6 total pinfall average and rolled a 171 against UAB.
