MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The
Grambling State University women's bowling team competed in its final meet of the 2018 season as the Lady Tigers went 1-12 at the Hornet Classic, hosted by Alabama State University, over the weekend.

Grambling State picked up the lone win on Sunday, with a thrilling 5-3 victory over Alabama A&M. The Lady Tigers led 2-1 after three games and 3-2 after the fifth game. Both teams rolled a 149 in the sixth game and Alabama A&M took the seventh game, 173-153, to set up a tiebreaker series. In the tiebreaker, the Lady Tigers picked up the victory with an 82-64, series, to close out the weekend on a high note.

Jennifer Pickens spared up a 5-10 split in the third position, which was ultimately the key to victory in the thriller," Grambling State head coach
Kenneth Myers said. "Khalillah
Onojeta and
Ariel Henderson sealed the deal with a spare and strike pick-up, respectively, in the fourth and fifth position, to complete the revenge. Alabama A&M defeated Grambling State the previous two tournaments in final day tournament bracket-play the last two consecutive tournaments. "
