PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State University softball fell 7-1 against Prairie View A&M to conclude a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series on Sunday afternoon at the PVAMU Softball Complex.
Prairie View A&M struck first with one run in the first inning and Alyssa Garcia added a two-run homer in the fourth as the Lady Panthers built a 3-0 lead.
The Lady Panthers plated one runner in the fifth, but Grambling State answered with one run in the sixth to close the gap to 4-1. However, Prairie View A&M put the game away with a three-run sixth to grab a 7-1 advantage.

* Grambling State finished with one run on five hits and committed one error.

Caitlin McDowell (6-10) took the loss in pitching six innings. She gave up seven runs on 10 hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.
* Prairie View A&M finished with seven runs on 10 hits and committed one error.
* Alyssa Garcia led the Lady Panthers at the plate by going 3-for-3, with two runs scored and two RBIs.
* Ashley Higgins ( 3-6) picked up the victory in seven innings of work. She gave up one run on five hits, with three strikeouts.
