BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Grambling State University football team will play two games on the ESPN Family of Networks this season, as announced by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Thursday.

The Tigers, who open the season with an ESPN3 game at Louisiana on Saturday, will participate in two televised games for the 2018 season.

Grambling State kicks off its televised portion of conference play on Saturday, Sept. 22 when Alabama State comes to town. Kickoff for that game is set for 6 p.m. and will be broadcasted/streamed live on ESPN3. The Tigers wait nearly a full month before being back on TV as GSU visits Alcorn State on Oct. 20. Kickoff against the Braves is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be carried live on ESPN3 and broadcasted later (tape delayed) on ESPNU.

In addition to being featured three times on the ESPN Family of Networks, the Tigers will conclude the regular season against rival Southern in the Bayou Classic on NBC Sports.

Last season, Grambling State football games were televised five times, including the Celebration Bowl, which aired live on ABC and kicked off the College Football Bowl Season.

The Tigers begin the 2018 season on Saturday with a trip to Lafayette, La. to take on Louisiana at Cajun Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and is streamed live on ESPN3.
