BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Grambling State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams were back in action on Saturday at the Samford January Open, hosted by Samford University at the Birmingham Crossplex.
 
Women's Track
> In the 200m, Chloe Robinson placed eighth, with a time of 25.81, while teammate Jeunice Maxime' finished 10th at 25.87. Daneisha Curry was 21st
> In the 400m, Marrisa Stove and Dayna Sterling finished 35th and 36th, respectively
> Angelica Brown placed 16th in the 800m
> In the 3,000m run, Priscilla Kibet finished in 17th
> Naomi Kiprop placed 10th in the 5,000m run, with a time of 19:43.47, while Winny Chirchir was 13th
> In the 60m hurdles, Rayna Whyte finished seventh, with a time of 9.33
 
Women's Field
> In the high jump, Jada Johnson placed 22nd
> Victoria Walter registered a ninth-place finish in the long jump, with a mark of 5.27m. Aliyah Campbell was 20th
> In the triple jump, Walter placed ninth at 10.67m, while Breanna Wayne finished 18th
> Aneisha Bell finished sixth in the shot put, with a toss of 12.71m
> In the weight throw, Mia Jackson placed 31st
 
Men's Track
> In the 200m, Evan Chambers placed 46th and Devyn Deckard 54th
> Jonathon Sawyer finished sixth, with a time of 49.56, in the 400m
> In  the 1-mile run, Aaron Koech placed 14th
> Noah Rugut finished 16th in the 3,000m run and Hillary Kiprop placed 23rd
> In the 5,000m, Bryson Bradford finished 18th
 
Men's Field
> In the men's high jump, Rudolph Valentine and Roderick Atkinson placed 18th and 19th, respectively, while Trinavous Belton took 28th
> Belton placed 15th in the triple jump
> In the shot put, Nicholas LaGarde finished 30th and 20th in the weight throw
 
Up Next
Both teams return to action on Friday in Lake Charles, La. at the McNeese Indoor Meet.
