Lady Tigers drop conference tilt to Howard

GRAMBLING, La. l After winning two back to back games on the road, the Grambling State University women's soccer team was unable to remain in the winning column for a third consecutive time as they fell to Howard University, 1-0, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest, on Sunday at the GSU Soccer Complex.

"Our team battled hard in a good match-up. We'll bounce back, but it stings to lose a game where we played well and doubled our opponents' chances to score but still didn't win," said head coach Justin Wagar. "Our focus will be on our final five conference games to fine tune things before we head into the playoffs."

In the first period, Howard was able to score against Grambling State (overall 6-8-1, 3-2 SWAC) from a header off a corner from 14 yards out that went in by Victoria Thorton (assisted by Kendall Macauly).
