GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University recently welcomed legendary bodybuilder and 1984 graduate, Ronnie "The King" Coleman, to the 25-yard line during the season's first home game to recognize his athletic achievements. One of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Coleman brought home the
Mr. Olympia title for eight consecutive years and held the record for most wins as an
IFBB professional with 26 titles.
"It's inspiring for students when influential Grambling State alumni come back to share about their career success," said President Rick Gallot. "I am proud to recognize Mr. Coleman's outstanding achievements and highlight of Grambling State's history."
He was also recently honored and selected for the Grambling State University Alumni award at the 2019 Bayou Classic Coaches Luncheon during the annual Bayou Classic weekend in New Orleans.
A 2018 Netflix special commemorates Coleman's famous career and inspiring journey.
