Grambling State competes at LSU Bayou Bengal

BATON ROUGE, La. | The Grambling State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams were back in action on Friday afternoon at the LSU Bayou Bengal at the Carl Maddox Field House.
 
Women's Track
> In the 200m, Chloe Robinson finished seventh, with a time of 26.12, while Dayna Sterling placed 14th (27.02) and Serena Jimerson 22nd
> Daneisha Curry placed 28th in the 400m. Dayna Sterling took 35th and Breanna Wayne 39th
> In the 800m, Angelica Brown claimed 19th, with a time of 2:35.98, while Marrisa Stove finished 24th
> Naomi Kiprop finished eighth in the 1-mile run, with a time of 5:33.46 and Priscilla Kibet took 17th at 5:51.55. Winny Chirchir (24th), Halima Chepkwony (27th) and Joan Jelagat (29th) also competed in the event
> In the 3,000m run, Naomi Kiprop placed seventh at 11:19.06, while Priscilla Kibet and Winny Chirchir finished ninth and 10th, respectively, with a times of 11:46.14 and 12:02.63. Halima Chepkwony (13:00.57) and Joan Jelagat were 13th and 14th
> The 4x400m relay team of Angelica Brown, Daneisha Curry, Chloe Robinson and Marrisa Stove finished seventh at 4:10.69
 
Women's Field
> In the long jump, Victoria Walter finished eighth, with a leap of 5.23m, while Aliyah Campbell was 13th (4.97m)
> Breanna Wayne and Serena Jimerson finished eighth and 11th, respectively, with jumps of 11.15m and 10.56m
> In the shot put, Darnese Woods took seventh at 12.35m and Mia Jackson was 12th at 8.34m
> Aneisha Bell finished 10th in the weight throw, with a toss of 14.61m and Tatyana Guidry was 12th at 13.61m
 
Men's Track
> Frederic Green finished fourth in the 200m, with a time of 22.85. His time was just .21 tenths off the winner, Babakarr Randall of Hinds CC. Charles Sullivan was 13th (23.77), followed by Lee Rudley in 16th place (24.21)
> In the 400m, Evan Chambers claimed 29th and Albert Cain earned 34th
> Hassan Chepkwony placed 11th, with a time of 4:40.44, in the 1-mile run. Aaron Koech finished 14th (4:45.34), while teammates Hillary Kiprop, Noah Rugut and Bryson Bradford were 19th, 20th and 25th
> Hassan Chepkwony finished fourth, with a time of 9:12.76, in the 3,000m run. He was just seven seconds off the winner, Kolyn Salzman. Aaron Koech was 12th (9:33.42), followed by Hillary Kiprop 17th (9:39.61), Noah Rugut 18th (9:40.20), Bryson Bradford 25th and Devyn Deckard 26th
> The 4x400m relay team of Charles Sullivan, Evan Chambers, Fredrick Green and Albert Cain placed 15th
 
Men's Field
> In the long jump, Rudolph Valentine claimed 10th, with a jump of 6.63m, while Roderick Atkinson was 14th
> Nicholas LaGarde finished 12th in the shot put

Both teams conclude the indoor season at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 14-15 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
