BATON ROUGE, La. | The Grambling State University women's tennis team returned to the court on Friday and nearly came away with a victory as the Lady Tigers were edged, 4-3, by Prairie View A&M in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match.

Grambling State (1-6 overall, 1-2 SWAC) took the doubles point as the Lady Tigers won at No. 1 and No. 3.

The team of
Bryttish Burts and
Imperia Martinez defeated Neharika Rama and Constance Aranguiz, 6-4, to give GSU the first win in doubles play.
Idah Longwe and
Danna Galeano won at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, over Jimena Duran-Castellanos and Mahogani Green to give the Lady Tigers the 1-0 advantage.

In singles play, Prairie View A&M evened the match at 1 with a victory at No. 6, but the Lady Tigers got a win at No. 4 when Martinze defeated Aranguiz, 6-0, 6-0. The Lady Panthers won at No. 1 and No. 3 to take a 3-2 advantage, but Grambling State tied the match at 3 when
Keren Happuch Muswere beat Lucia Garcia, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. However, Prairie View A&M claimed the match with a victory at No. 5.
