HATTIESBURG, Miss. | The Grambling State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams returned to action over the weekend at the Southern Miss Open, hosted by Southern Miss University at the Bell Track and Field Stadium.
 
Women's Track
> In the 3,000m, Naomi Kiprop finished ninth, with a time of 10:58.53
> The team of Daneisha Curry, Jeunice Maxime', Dayna Sterling and Breanna Wayne finished third in the 4x100m, with a time of 48.8
 
Women's Field
> Breanna Wayne finished fifth in the triple jump, with a leap of 11.23m
> In the shot put, Aneisha Bell placed 10th at 12.33m
> Aneisha Bell claimed eighth in the discus, with a toss of 41.52m
> In the hammer throw, Aneisha Bell finished eighth at 46.44m, while Tatyana Guidry was 10th at 44.92m
> Marrisa Stove and Tatyana Guidry placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the javelin, with throws of 28.04m and 24.31m
 
Men's Track
> Devyn Deckard finished seventh in the 400m, with a time of 47.82m
> The 4x100 relay team of Evan Chambers, Frederic Green, Jonathon Sawyer and Lee Rudley finished third, with a time of 42.00
> Evan Chambers, Devyn Deckard, Frederic Green and Jonathon Sawyer placed sixth at 3:20.98 in the 4x400m relay
 
Men's Field
> Devanir Martin and Maurice Robinson placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump, with leaps of 7.26m and 7.16m
> Maurice Robinson claimed seventh in the triple jump at 13.94m, while Devanir Marin finished 10th, with a mark of 13.66m
> Geremy Hickbottom placed fifth in the javelin at 51.73m
