Macaay and Percival named to SWAC All-Tournament team

NEW ORLEANS, La. | Grambling State University baseball players Drexler Macaay and Jahmoi Percival picked up a pair of honors after the conclusion of Sunday's 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Tournament at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
 
Macaay and Percival were named to the All-SWAC Baseball Tournament team after their five-game performance, which saw the Tigers finish in the semifinals.
 
Macaay led the team at the tournament with a .412 batting averaged and was 7-for-17 at the plate. He finished with six RBIs, three runs scored and two doubles. In addition, he went 5-for-5 in a 15-9 victory over Alabama State on Friday night.
 
Percival was third on the team in batting during the five games with a .350 batting average. He was 7-for-20 at the dish, with two triples, one double and one home run. In addition, he drove in six and scored seven times.
 
Grambling State, which ended the season at 27-25 and was the first winning season under head coach James Cooper, concluded tournament play on Saturday with a 5-2 loss to Alabama State. The Hornets advanced to Sunday's championship game and were defeated by Southern, 15-0.
