Box Score GRAMBLING, La l The Lady Tigers women's soccer team concluded play against undefeated Louisiana Tech with a tie of 1-1 after overtime on Wednesday evening at the GSU Soccer Complex.
"We're happy about the result, but we're not satisfied, "Head Coach Wagar said. "Our goal was to beat Tech. That's something we talked about all year since we played them last year. They're a good team. We went down 1-0 in the second half, and our girls battled back and got a goal, and actually had some other opportunities to win the game and didn't get it done."
After a scoreless first half, Louisiana Tech (8-0-1) opened scoring in the 67th minute after a foul by GSU goal keeper Rachael Pugh in the penalty area. The Lady Bulldogs were awarded a penalty kick as Sophie Fijneman cashed in a foul for a goal.
