GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State women's basketball team and head coach
Freddie Murray announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent this week. Among the prospects were to Marissa Tell, Colbi Maples and Victoria Eniafe to make up the early 2020 signing class.
Marissa Tell - 6'0 - Guard - Haynesville, La.
In Tell's first three years at Haynesville High School, she averaged a double-double including 20 points and 13 rebounds her freshman year, 23 points and 14 rebounds her sophomore year and 25 points and 15 rebounds in her junior year. Tell reached 1000 career points by her sophomore year and was named the Shreveport Times Female Athlete of the Year. Additionally, she played for Lake City Pride AAU Program.
Coach Murray says:
"Marissa is a tremendous athlete that will impact our program with her length, explosiveness and her ability to defend multiple positions. She can score from all three levels, attack off the bounce and has the skill set to start the fast break after a rebound."
Colbi Maples- 5'8- Guard - Earle, Ark.
Maples first three year accolades at Earle High include 2X All State, 3X All Conference, 3X All Region and 1X Conference Player of the Year. She averaged 18.6 points, 5.2 rebounds 4.7 assists and 1.4 steals. She also played for Woods Elite and Mavs Elite AAU Programs.
Coach Murray says:
"Colbi is a fierce competitor and leader on the floor that plays the game with tremendous tenacity and drive. She is a dynamic guard that has a high basketball IQ along with the ability to score, distribute and create at a high level."
Victoria Eniafe - 6'1 - Forward - Washington, D.C.
Eniafe played in 30 games at Maret High School while averaging eight points and seven rebounds. She also played for Team Durant's AAU Program.
Coach Murray says:
"Victoria is an athletic stretch forward that can play inside and out. She will bring toughness versatility and athleticism to our post position. She has the ability to rebound outside of her area and is multi-dimensional in every sense of the word."
