Box Score RUSTON, La. | The Grambling State University women's basketball team had two players finish in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Tigers lost by a 10-point deficit to Louisiana Tech, 79-69, on Monday night at the Thomas Assembly Center.
Louisiana Tech (2-0) got off to a nine-point advantage early on capped by a Keiunna Walker 3-pointer, but Grambling State (1-1) went on a run that gave them the first quarter. The Lady Tigers lead, 22-19, at the end of the period.
The Lady Techsters outscored Grambling State, 21-14, in the second to give them the 40-36, advantage going into the break. The Lady Tigers came out on top in the third period, outscoring Louisiana Tech, 23-18 to take a 59-58 lead heading into the final stanza.
The game was tied at 64 apiece after an
Alexus Holt jumper with 5:35 remaining, but the Lady Techsters could not be stopped down the stretch as they went on a 15-5 run to win the game.
Holt paced the Lady Tigers offense going 4-of-4 from the charity stripe and 3-of-5 from the three-point line as she scored 17 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Candice Parramore added 13 points and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
Walker led the Lady Techsters offense with 17 points, three rebounds, one steal. Raizel Guinto chipped in 15 points, three bounds, two assists and one steal, while Amber Dixon added 14 points, six boards, two assists and one steal.

> Grambling State was 23-of-54 (42.6 percent) shooting and 16-of-21 (76.2 percent) from the charity stripe
> Louisiana Tech shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the field and 68.6 percent (24-of-135 from the free-throw line)
> The Lady Techsters registered 39 rebounds, including 14 on the offensive glass
> GSU pulled down 33 rebounds, with 20 coming on the defensive end
> Grambling State finished 26 bench points, 22 points in the paint, 22 points off of turnovers, six second-chance points and 10 fast break points
>Louisiana Tech tallied 34 points in the paint, 23 points off of GSU turnovers, 23 bench points, six second-chance points and 28 fast break points
