MOBILE, Ala. | The Reese's Senior Bowl is the nation's most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL draft process, which explains our hashtag, #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE. The Reese's Senior Bowl has had 93 total players and 40 selected in the first three rounds each of the past two years, including 10 first-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. Grambling State University offensive lineman and Little Rock, Ark. native
David Moore was the first HBCU student-athlete to accept his invite to the 2021 Reese's Senior Bowl.
"I have to start off by thanking God," said Moore. "Not only has he graced me the opportunity to play football, but he has also guided me every step of the way. His guidance led me to the greatest college that I am proud to be an alumnus of. Grambling State University is where I was able to develop and mature as a player and leader. Having people like Coach Fobbs and Coach Nelson push me to my full potential along with my teammates, I was able to finally see what they had been seeing in me from the jump. I am still in shock of how far I've come, and that I am finally in a position to do what I've always wanted to do which is take care of my family. I know there are many people believing in me and I'm truly thankful for all the love and support. As I've stated before, I haven't made it yet, but I'm one step closer to making my dreams a reality."
The 93 figure represents nearly 40 percent of the total draft these past two years. One thing that differentiates the Reese's Senior Bowl from other all-star games is the participation of two full NFL coaching staffs. Last year, the two teams were coached by the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals and there were over 900 credentialed NFL personnel in Mobile, AL. for game week.
