Grambling produces 4 double figure scorers in 78-61 throttling over ULM

Sophomore McGee shoots 100 percent from field with 16 points in the victory

MONROE, La. | The Grambling State University men's basketball team produced four scorers in double figures en route to a 78-61 defeat over the University of Louisiana at Monroe at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Tigers (2-3) trailed 9-2 early in the first half before going on a 13-3 run. Grambling eventually led 40-27 at the break and never looked back due to solid play on both ends of the floor, including a handful of dunks and alley-oops.

Cameron Christon scored a game-high 17 points in the win over ULM.

Junior guards Cameron Christon and teammate Cameron Woodall both tied a game-high with 17 points apiece for Grambling while redshirt sophomore Sarion McGee was a perfect 6-of-6 from the field and finished with 16 points in the win.

As a team, Grambling finished with a total of 16 assists to just nine for the Warhawks.

 

Inside the Numbers

> Grambling State was 29-of-56 (52 percent) shooting and 9-of-13 (69 percent) from the charity stripe

> ULM shot 30 percent (19-of-63) from the field and 68 percent (15-of-22) from the free-throw line

> The Tigers registered 36 rebounds, including 30 on the defensive glass

> The Warhawks pulled down 41 rebounds, with 18 coming on the offensive end

> GSU finished with 26 bench points, 30 points in the paint, 16 points off turnovers, two second-chance points and 11 fast break points

>ULM tallied 18 points in the paint, 10 points off turnovers, 22 bench points, 12 second-chance points and four fast break points
