Box Score GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University softball team fell 3-1 against Northwestern State University in the home opener at the GSU Softball Complex in non-conference action. The loss snaps a two-game win streak for Grambling.
The Lady Tigers (3-11) trailed 1-0 in the first inning off of a wild pitch. The Lady Tigers gave up another run in the third inning before finally getting on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning when
Rodjahnae Dupont-Barlow generated an RBI that brought home
Asli Strozier.
Northwestern State then sealed the deal in the top of the sixth inning when Cayla Jones hit a home run to close the door on Grambling's attempted come back.
Starting pitcher
Ja'Lynn Bonner (0-5) was credited with the loss, giving up four hits and three earned runs.
The Demons were led by Jones who finished with two hits and two RBIs.

The Lady Tigers continue non-conference play on Saturday, March 7 as they travel to New Orleans, La. to face The University of North Alabama in the HBCU Division 1 Tournament. First pitch is set for 9 a.m.
