Box Score GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State Tigers dismantled Texas Southern 14-3 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener at Wilbert Ellis Field at R.W.E. Jones Park. The win snaps a 3-game skid for the Tigers.
On the defensive end, Grambling senior pitcher
Bryan Delgado (2-2) was marvelous on the mound, striking out five Texas Southern batters and giving up just two earned runs in five innings of work.
On the offensive end, redshirt junior
Ian Bailey hit a total of two 3-run home runs and fiinished with a game-high six RBIs in the victory while teammate
Jeremy Almaguer produced a game-high six runs. As a team Grambling poured in four runs in the second inning and added an additional three runs in the third. Just when it was all about over, the Tigers flexed their muscles and added six insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the deal in seven innings with a 10-run rule (conference rules).
