                 GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, 
Dr. Trayvean Scott, announced on Friday the addition of Gloria Newell as the Athletic Academic Advisor and Learning Specialist.
 
"We are happy to welcome Ms. Newell to the Grambling family," Scott said. "She is an experienced educator who is passionate about student success. She will be a tremendous asset to us as we continue to enhance academic services for student-athletes."
 
Newell, a native of Ellisville, Miss., is a proud graduate of Mississippi State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Education. She then went on to obtain her Master's degree in Sports Administration from Belhaven University.
 
Before coming to Grambling State University, Newell was an educator on the secondary level and a member of the Mississippi High School Coaches Association.
