Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team utilized stifling defense and timely scoring en route to convincing 6-0 victory over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Mississippi Valley State on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Tigers (4-7-2 overall, 4-1-1 SWAC) grabbed a quick 1-0 lead when
Kailey Pena found the back of the net in the 12
th minute
- In the 40
th minute,
Laila Loring extended the Lady Tiger lead to 2-0 when she received a cross from
Kambria Cash, placing the ball in the top left corner of the net
- Grambling State pushed its lead to 3-0 when
Imogen Fowler beat MVSU's (0-12, 0-7) goalkeeper for another goal
- In the 46
th minute
Hannah Roach cracked the scoring column, putting GSU up 4-0

Kaydeen Jack kept the scoring onslaught going in the 49
th minute, stretching The Lady Tigers' advantage to 5-0.
- Pena rounded the scoring out in the 52
nd minute with her second goal of the day to give Grambling State a 6-0 lead.

Grambling State travels to Lorman, Miss. on Sunday to take on Alcorn State at Spinks-Casem Stadium in another SWAC contest. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
