BATON ROUGE, La. | The Urban Legend,
Garrett Urban, continued to gain some accolades late on Monday as Grambling State University's junior kicker was selected the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Co-Special Teams Player of the Week.
Urban, who shares the honor with LSU kicker Cade York, was selected on Monday to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Second Team as a place kicker and punter. The Houston, Texas native had a huge weekend as Grambling State snapped a three-game losing streak in the Bayou Classic against rival Southern.
Urban booted five field goals and accounted for 17 points in the 29-26 win over the Jaguars. After being iced on three consecutive timeouts, Urban drilled a 25-yard field goal to lift the Tigers to the win. In addition, he was named the 48th Annual Bayou Classic Most Valuable Player.
