GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling Tigers fell to Jackson State 15-8 in at Wilbert Ellis Field at R.W.E. Jones Park.
Redshirt junior
Jordyn Smith gave Grambling 0-12 overall, 0-3 SWAC) a 1-0 lead with a home run in the second inning before Jackson State answered back with a two-run home run to take a 2-1 lead.
Graduate student
Jahmoi Percival retaliated and generated a grand slam in the third inning to give Grambling a 5-2 lead before Jackson State answered back with two runs in the fourth and fifth inning. Graduate student
Joseph Gunn responded with a home run of his own in the fifth inning to tie the game at 6-6 before Jackson State went on a 9-2 run to close the game.
Emir Garrett (0-2) was credited with the loss for Grambling while Steven Davila picked up the victory for JSU.
Antoine Valerio started on the mound for the Tigers and pitched a total of five innings and gave up eight hits along with six earned runs for GSU.
