Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. | Grambling scored two goals in both the first and second half en route to a 4-1 victory over Southern at Jaguar Field in Southwestern Athletic Conference competition.

"I feel the girls competed very well in a hard fought and physical contest," said GSU head coach Craig Roberts. "The girls held their ground and applied our game plan well specifically in the second half. It was great to see a variety of players score for us, which is something we have been working on. We are improving each game and it's a pleasure to see their progress."

Grambling (4-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 SWAC) got behind early as Southern found the back of the net in the second minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead, but Grambling responded with two goals before halftime from Kameron Powell (8th min.) and Paula Burillo-Blasco (17th. min). GSU out shot Southern 13-3 in the first half.

GSU goalkeeper Rachel Pugh generated four saves and allowed one goal in the victory.

In the second half, GSU shut out the Jags and added two more goals to put the match out of reach as Haylee O'Leary (50th min.) and Macy Ramsey (56th min.) each enjoyed a goal.
