Tigers end regular season with 80-72 win over Bulldogs on Senior Night

6 seniors honored in regular season finale

GRAMBLING, La. | Senior Terreon Randolph produced a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards as the Grambling Tigers finished the regular season with an 80-72 victory over Alabama A&M on Senior Night in Southwestern Athletic Conference play at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. As a team the Tigers produced six scorers in double-figures. A total of six seniors were honored 

The Tigers (11-11 overall, 9-6 SWAC) trailed by 10 points at halftime, but exploded to a 48-point second half while outscoring its opponent by nearly 20 points. Redshirt junior Cameron Christon led Grambling and tied a game-high with 17 points and five boards, including 6-of-7 from the charity stripe in 31 minutes of action while teammate Tra'Michael Moton generated 13 points and six dimes, and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the season finale.

Redshirt senior Prince Moss filled the stat sheet with 11 points and shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. He also added four boards, three assists and four steals in his final game at the H.A.C.

Sophomore sharpshooter Zahad Munford buried three 3-pointers and chipped in with 11 points for the Tigers.

London Riley was the high man for the Bulldogs and tied a game-high with 17 points in the loss.

 

Inside the Numbers

> Grambling State was 23-of-57 (40 percent) shooting from the field and 26-of-34 (67 percent) from the charity stripe

> Alabama A&M shot 47 percent (26-of-55) from the field and 67 percent (10-of-15) from the free-throw line

> GSU registered 27 rebounds, including 18 coming on the defensive glass

> AAMU pulled down 36 rebounds, with 10 coming on the offensive end
