Game 2
Texas Southern 5 Grambling 3
Grambling (7-12 overall, 4-6 SWAC) held its opponent scoreless through the first three innings due to solid defense and an array of pitches from freshman
Dacia Richard (0-3) and enjoyed a 1-0 lead when
Antiya Randle produced a sacrifice bunt to score
India Wells. TSU countered with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
The Lady Tigers responded with two runs in the top of the fifth when Wells crossed home plate again for GSU to bring the score to 2-2. Randle then generated another sacrifice-RBI to score teammate
Cameron Ellis as Grambling took a 3-2 lead.
In the sixth inning, TSU managed a two-out RBI-triple that rolled perfectly into the corner of left field, tying the contest at 3-3.
In the seventh, TSU pinch hitter Danielle Sonnier entered the game and hit a two-out, two-run home run to center field in dramatic fashion as GSU could not recover in the final at-bat.
