GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team fought hard in regulation but Southern Miss scored the Golden Goal in extra time to earn a 1-0 overtime win on Sunday at the GSU Soccer Complex.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams had opportunities in regulation, none bigger than Southern Miss's Nolubabalo Sishuba, who banged a wide-open chance off the crossbar in the 26^th minute.
- The score remained tied after 90 minutes, which allowed for two overtime periods. However, if one team should score, the game would be over.
- In the 96th minute, Alice Campos' shot to the far post was pushed away by Grambling State goalkeeper Rachel Pugh. However, Ryan Smith was on the backdoor and slotted the ball into the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

- Rachel Pugh played all 96 minutes in goal for the Lady Tigers, finishing with eight saves
- Kendell Mindnich registered one save for the Golden Eagles
- Grambling State finished with four shots, with one on goal
- Southern Miss registered 16 shots, with nine on target
