Box Score 2 TYLER, Texas | The Grambling State University softball team continued to swing the bat well in sweeping Texas College, 19-0 and 8-0 in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

GAME 1
- Grambling State (5-2) found its momentum in the top of the third inning scoring a pair of runs to grab a 2-0 lead

Antiya Randle took her first strike for a ride over the left center field fence to unload the bases as the Tigers took a 6-0 lead
-
Deija Russell hit a sacrifice fly to score another run before closing out the top of the third inning
- Sherrell Mathews singled to left field to bring Randle across the plate, extending Grambling State lead to 8-0
- Ta'Mya Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Matthews as the Lady Tigers pushed the lead to 9-0
- Grambling State cruised from there, plating 10 more runs to seal the victory

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grambling State finished with 20 hits, 19 runs and one error
- Texas College had two hits and four errors

Dacia Richard walked away with the victory throwing a two-hitter. She recorded nine strikeouts and walked three batters
-Natalie Garcia took the loss in five innings, registering four strikeouts and walking five

- Grambling State raced out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning as
Kayla Robinson came across to score
- In the fourth inning,
Janecia King cleared the bases with an RBI double to score three runs putting the Lady Tigers on top 4-0

Kayla Robinson drove in two more runs with a single to shortstop, putting GSU up 6-0
- King hit another double in the top of the fifth inning, bringing in two more runs as the Lady Tigers extended the advantage to 8-0

- Grambling State finished with eight runs, 11 hits and one error
- Texas College finished with five hits and three errors

Payton Shells and King pitched in the circle for the Lady Tigers, combining to allow for five hits and three strikeouts
