OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. | The Grambling State University softball team opened play at the Red Dirt Classis taking on Oklahoma City University and Bethel College. The Lady Tigers dropped game one, 10-3, and dominated game two, 6-0.
GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Oklahoma City (14-0) scored six runs in the top of the first inning
-Grambling State (7-7) finally answered with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Dazzlyn Woodard doubled to right field bringing three runs across the plate
-The three runs weren't enough to save the game as OCU went on to take the 10-3 victory in five innings
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Grambling State finished with six hits, three runs and five errors
-Oklahoma City finished with 11 hits, 10 runs and two errors
-Dacia Richard (3-4) took the loss for the GSU allowing 10 runs, 10 hits and two strikeouts in three innings
-Shelbey Cornelson (8-0) walked away with the victory for OCU allowing three runs, six hits and seven strikeouts
GAME 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Dazzlyn Woodard smacked an RBI double to right center allowing India Wells to score
-Nyah Jones came up to the plate next and singled to right field as Woodard scored
-India Wells singled to left center scoring Fayth McQueary making the score 5-0
-Deija Russel singled to score Ja'Lynn Bonner as the Lady Tigers completed a 6-0 blowout against Bethel College
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Grambling State finished with eight hits and six runs
-Bethel College finished with four hits and two errors
-Sherrell Matthews (3-0) recorded the win for the Lady Tigers completing three strikeouts and only allowing four hits in seven innings
-Reagan Robinson (1-12) took the loss for Bethel College giving up eight hits and three runs

The Lady Tigers will return for day two of the Red Dirt Classic playing a double header with Kansas Wesleyan at 2pm and Langston at 7pm.
