BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Mathias Cheboi and Ruth Kibet helped Grambling State University sweep the men's and women's Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) weekly cross country honors, the conference announced on Monday.
Cheboi paced the Grambling State men's team during Saturday's Warhawk Invite by placing third individually in the 4.2-mile run, with a time of 22:08.0.
Kibet also had a big day for GSU, where she led the Lady Tigers with a sixth-place finish at the ULM Warhawk Invite. She completed the 3.1-mile course at the Charles Johnson Children's Park in 19:37, as Grambling State finished third.
Grambling State returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Watson Cross Country Classic, hosted by Mississippi College, in Clinton, Miss.
