FANNIN, Miss. | The Grambling State University women's bowling team opened the first day of the JSU Sonic Boom Classic in Fannin, Miss. on Friday afternoon; going 0-5 on the day.
The Lady Tigers fell to Louisiana Tech (1021-709), Alabama-Birmingham (887-694), Jackson State (826-740), and Alabama State (930-753).
The baker match format uses total pin count through five games to determine the winner of the match. The Lady Tigers posted team highs for the day when facing defending SWAC champion Alabama State with an average score of 150 in the five games.
Grambling State returns to action on Saturday with five traditional-style matches. Play begins at 9:00 a.m.
