RUSTON, La. | Georgina Kaindoah won her singles match, but the Grambling state University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to McNeese State at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
Kaindoah's three-set victory (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) over MSU's Ariane Monlleo Sanch served as the highlight of a day that saw the Lady Tigers fiercely battle the Cowgirls. She improved to 1-0 in singles matches on the year.
Grambling State (0-1) lost the doubles point to open the day. The duo of Itzel Hernandez and Lungile Ntuli put up the strongest fight, falling 6-3 to McNeese State's Emma-Lou Pommiers and Tiana Fox.
In singles action, Claire Machisa pushed her opponent to three sets. Machisa won the opening set 6-3, but dropped the final two sets, 3-6, 3-6.
