BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Grambling State University football placekicker
Tanner Rinker was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Rinker was a key contributor in GSU's 35-20 State Fair Classic victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday night, going 3-for-3 on field goals and converting two extra-point attempts for the Tigers.
On the season, the Castle Rock, Colo. native is 5-for-6 on field goal attempts and 14-of-16 on PATs.
Grambling State travels to Lorman, Miss. to take on Alcorn State on Saturday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
