Tigers Can’t Slow Down Iowa State

AMES, Iowa | The Grambling State University men's basketball team suffered a 92-37 non-conference loss to Iowa State on Sunday afternoon at Hilton Coliseum.
 
Kintavious Dozier led GSU (2-3) with 14 points and a rebound in the loss. He was the only Tigers to reach double-figures. 
 
Grambling State struggled with Iowa State's defense in the first half, shooting just 25.0 percent from the floor and committing 12 turnovers. For the game, GSU shot 28.9 percent (14-of-49) and turned the ball over 21 times. 
 
The Cyclones opened a quick 15-2 lead with 15:21 to go in the first half.  After a jumper from Tra'Michael Moton made it 15-4, Grambling State entered a seven-minute scoring drought that saw ISU go on a 17-0 run and grow its advantage to 32-4 with 8:26 left in the half.
 
Kintavious Dozier snapped the run with layup at the 7:08 mark. The Cyclones led 48-14 at halftime. 
 
The second half wasn't much better for GSU, as the Tigers couldn't slow down a hot shooting Iowa State in the final period. 
 
Iowa State (4-0) knocked down 62.7 percent of its field goal attempts (32-of-51). Tamin Lampley led the Cyclones with 17 points with nine assists and three steals.
