MONROE, La. | The Grambling State University baseball team suffered a 7-1 loss to Louisiana-Monore in seven innings at the Lou St. Amant Field on Tuesday night.
GSU (2-6) struggled offensively, only managing one hit - a solo home run by Trevor Hatton.
ULM (5-4) got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning when Riley Davis drew a bases loaded walk to go up 1-0. The Warhawks extended that lead in the lead to 4-1 on a three-run homer by Jake Haggard.
In the top of the fourth, Hatton smack a no doubt home run sailing high over the left field wall, making the score 4-1. ULM took full control of the contest after that. The Wrahawks scored 10 runs over the next three innings, including a seven run burst in the bottom of the sixth.
The Grambling State pitching staff also had a tough time finding the strike zone. The Tigers issued 12 walks. Louisiana-Monore registered nine hits in the ballgame.
Jacorey Boudreaux (0-1) was saddled with the loss, working 2.0 innings and allowing one run on two hits, with a strikeout and three walks.
