GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University softball team swept the weekly Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) honors, as Tytianna Robinson was named SWAC Hitter of the Week and Erin Gibbs was named SWAC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.
Robinson, a redshirt junior from Pineville, La., batted .545 (6-for-11) with seven RBI, two doubles, a triple and three stolen bases, leading Grambling State to a 4-0 record this past week. She assisted GSU in claiming a win over Jackson State and three-game sweep over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Gibbs earned pitcher of the week honors after going 2-0 and striking out 15 total batters to help GSU sweep UAPB. The freshman from Cerritos, Calif. notched a career-high 10 Ks in GSU's 10-1 win over the Golden Lions on Saturday. She also surrendered just one earned run in the two appearances.
