Multiple Tigers Set Personal Records at the Clyde Hart Classic

WACO, Texas | Grambling State University Track & Field team totaled eight personal bests to highlight the action at the Clyde Hart Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.

"I'm extremely proud of how we competed against some quality athletes from quality teams," said GSU Head Track & Field Coach LaMonte Vaughn. "Even the people who didn't get personal or season bests this weekend competed well. This is a building critical mass type of day. We have to continue the work we are doing. I'm very pleased with the effort and execution of the are team and the staff"

Day one started off with Christian Lewis placing fourth in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.12m

Malachi Johnson notched a top eight spot placing eighth in the men's 400m with 48.00. Teammate Ahmad Cavalier recorded a personal best of 50.21.

CJ Guidry ran a personal record in the men's 200m with a time of 21.27.

The Grambling State University track & field team continued to build on its momentum on Saturday .

Dakari Betts gave an impressive performance placing fourth overall in the men's 110m hurdles with 14.40.

Malachi Johnson notched a top eight spot placing eighth in the men's 400m with 48.00. Teammate Ahmad Cavalier recorded a PR of 50.21.

Terrance Bell recorded a personal best in the men's shot put with a distance of 14.13m earning him an eleventh place spot.

In the men's 800m, Miciah Myles finished in eighth place and logged a PR with a time of 1:55.12. Devin Malone also earned a personal best with a time of 1:58.56.

Mathias Cheboi came in at sixth place in the men's 3000m with a finishing time of 8:57.36

On the women's side Jamie Richardson had a strong performance in the field, tying second place with a time 1.68m in the women's high jump.

Amari Wrightsil placed sixth in the women's 400m with a PR of 55.65.

Ivory Davis found herself in the top eight of her event, securing a seventh place spot in the women's 100m hurdles with a run of 14.15.

Distance runner, Ruth Kibet placed fifth in the women's 3000m coming in at 10:57.15.
