GRAMBLING, La. | In Tuesday's doubleheader at the GSU Softball Complex, the Grambling State University softball team fell 11-0 to UMass-Lowell in the opening game and settled for a 3-3 tie in the nightcap.
Game 1
GSU (11-8-1) who entered the game riding back to back wins, could only muster two hits against UML (4-9-1) senior pitcher Rylie White.
The River Hawks got on the board first at the top of the first inning. After a fielding error and a single to center field, Tulley hit a base clearing triple to center field and put the River Hawks up 2-0. UML found themselves leading 3-0 with an infield single by Darlene Gutierrez.
In the seventh inning, the River Hawks registered four runs giving them a 11-0 victory.
Game 2
Grambling State found somewhat of a rhythm in game two despite UML taking an early lead in the first inning after scoring two RBI doubles. In the bottom of the frame, Jayda Williams hit an RBI groundout and two more RBI singles from India Wells and Cadashia Collins brought the Tigers up 3-2. UML's Tulley hit a home run to tie the game before it was called due to darkness.
