DALLAS, Texas | The Grambling State University Baseball fell to Dallas Baptist 13-3 in seven innings on Wednesday evening at Horner Ballpark.Â
Conor Rudy (2-2) got the start on the mound for the Tigers, tossing 2.0 innings surrendering three runs on one hit and two walks. He also registered two strikeouts.Â
After a scoreless first inning, Dallas Baptist (8-5) took a 3-0 lead in the second frame. The Patriots extended their advantage to 9-0 by the end of the fourth.Â
Grambling State (3-9) cracked the score column in the top of the sixth when Jose Vargas was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing Tiger Borom in. GSU's next two runs scored via bases loaded walks to make it 9-3.
DBU plated four more runs in the bottom of the sixth, stretching its advantage to 13-3. The Tigers weren't able to respond in the seventh.
The Dallas Baptist outhit Grambling State 12-5.Â
Jason DeBerry (1-0) earned the win for the Patriots, allowing no runs on three hits with five strikeouts and a walk in 3.0 innings of work.Â

Grambling State travels to Little Rock, Ark. for a three-game series versus Arkansas-Little Rock beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
