Anderson Named to East-West Shrine Bowl 1000

GRAMBLING, La. | As the Grambling State University football team gears up for the start of Fall camp, the preseason accolades are beginning to roll in for members of the program. GSU Defensive End Sundiata Anderson was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 on Monday. 

Anderson played in 10 games for the Tigers in 2022 and was third on the team in tackles with 50, including 23 solo stops. He added 12.5 tackles for a loss of 64, while leading the Tigers in sacks, with seven. In addition, recorded two quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and blocked one kick.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at the Dallas Cowboys Facility in Frisco, TX on Feb. 1, 2024. Players who are selected will be coached by NFL coaches, in an NFL facility, and will have access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level.

The East West Shrine Bowl is also the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation, having started in 1925. 

Grambling State is set to open the 2023 season against Hampton University in the Brick City Classic held at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey on Sept. 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. EST/2 p.m. CST.
