GRAMBLING, La.| The Grambling State University's softball program and head coach Nakeya Hall have released its schedule for the 2024 season.
The team will begin its season at the River City Classic in Jackson, Miss. on Feb. 9-11, where they will face off against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Arlington Baptist, Xavier (La.), and Alabama A&M.
Following the tournament, the team travels to Covington, Ga. for the HBCU Softball Invitational on Feb. 16-18. They will compete against Maryland-Eastern Shore, North Carolina A&T, Howard, Fort Valley State, and South Carolina State.
On Feb. 20, the Tigers host Arlington Baptist at the Ruston Sports Complex.
The HBCU Celebration Classic in Montgomery, Ala. will be the next stop for the team from Feb. 23-25. They will take on Alabama State, Tuskegee, and Florida A&M.
GSU then travels to Arlington, Texas for the UTA Boerner Invitational on March 1-3, where they will compete against UT-Arlington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Incarnate Word, and UT-San Antonio.
On March 5, the team welcomes Louisiana-Monroe to town for a battle at the GSU Softball Complex.
Grambling State will then face Alcorn State on March 8-9 in Lorman, Miss., followed by single home game versus Texas College on March 12.
Rival Southern University pays a visit to Grambling on March 15-16, before heading to Houston, Texas to take on Texas Southern on March 22-23.
On March 26, GSU makes a short drive up I-20 for a cross-parish contest at Louisiana Tech.
Grambling State resumes Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play with a road trip to Pine Bluff, Ark. to play Arkansas-Pine Bluff on March 29-30.
On April 5-6, the team will face Prairie View A&M in Grambling, followed by a midweek game at Arlington Baptist on April 9 in Arlington, Texas.
On April 12-13, the Tigers face Texas Southern in a home series before road games at ULM on April 17 and Southern on Aril 19-20.
On April 23, the team will face Arlington Baptist at the Ruston Sports Complex followed by a home series versus Alcorn State on April 26-27.
GSU closes out the season on April 30 against Northwestern State in Natchitoches, LA.
The SWAC Softball Tournament will be held in Gulfport, Miss. on May 7-10
