JACKSON, Miss. | The Grambling State University baseball team struggled to slow down Jackson State, falling 11-1 in eight innings on Tuesday night at Braddy Field.
GSU fell to 2-13 on the year while JSU improved to 13-4.
Grambling State failed to get much going at the plate, only managing two hits in the contest.
Kyle Walker and
Demarckus Smiley accounted for GSU's hits with Walker going 1-for4 and Smiley going 1-for-3.
Jackson State, on the other hand, registered 10 hits in the contest. Davione Hull led JSU at the dish going 3-for-4 with a double. Joseph Eichelberger drove in four runs with going 2-for-3 with a double.
JSU held a 7-0 lead before GSU was able to crack the scoreboard on a sacrifice fly by
Julian Murphy.
Carlos Peguero (0-4) was charged with the loss seven runs, six earned, on six hits. He struck out four batters and walked four.
The winning pitcher was Miles Thomas (1-0) who held GSU scoreless on one hit through three innings of work.
