GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University baseball team fell to LSU 26-2 on Tuesday night at Skip Bertman Field at Alex Box Stadium
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Louisiana State opened up a 9-0 lead after two innings. It was a 3-run homer by Hayden Travinski that punctuated LSU's early lead.
- LSU dashed any hopes of a GSU rally with a 13-run fourth inning to take a commanding 22-0 lead.
- Kyle Walker continued his hot streak at the plate with a 2-run homer in the top of the fifth. He led the G-Men at the plate, going 3-for-3 on the evening.
- LSU added four more runs in the bottom to push its lead to 26-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grambling State scored two runs on seven hits. GSU stranded five runners and committed one error.
- LSU scored 26 runs on 17 hits. LSU left four runners on base.
- Carlos Peguero (1-9) was charged with the loss after pitching 1.0 innings. He surrendered two runs on one hit. He walked a pair of batters and struck out one.
- Taven Coleman (3-1) picked up the win for LSU in 2.0 innings. He registered one strikeout and allowed one hit.

Grambling State returns to action Friday, May 3 when the Tigers travel to Pine Bluff, Ark. to open a three-game series versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
