BATON ROUGE, La. | The Grambling State University men's and women's track & field teams closed wrapped up its season in the 2024 SWAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday afternoon at A.W. Mumford Stadium.
 
The GSU men's and women's teams captured ninth place in the overall team standings.  
 
In the men's 4x100, the Grambling State men's team of Christian Lewis, Jet Brown, Dante Brown and Damarion Roane secured third place after clocking in with a season-best 40.21. 
 
The women's 4x100 team of Kyla Blockett, Ivory Davis, Shamya Joiner and Ty Glasco came in fifth place with a time of 45.79. 
 
Ivory Davis paced GSU in the women's 100m hurdles, barely missing a spot on the podium with a time of 13.81, just behind Florida A&M's Katelynn Smith who ran a 13.80. Dynia Lewis finished in sixth after crossing the line in 13.91 seconds. 
 
In the men's high jumped, Nick Dixon jumped 7.50m to wrap up sixth. 
 
Lawrence Lambert earned a spot in the top 10 of the men's triple jump, leaping 14.59m. 
 
In the men's 100m final, Dante Brown came in sixth place with a time of 10.55 while Jet Brown churned out an eighth-place result with a time of 10.70. 
 
Amari Wrightsil grabbed fifth in the women's 400m (55.25) and eighth in the 200 (24.60)
 
Jean Dixon finished just outside the top 10 in the men's discus with a throw of 39.93.
 
In the final event of the championships for GSU, the women's 4x400, the team of Kayla Ford, Ivory Davis, Amari Wrightsil and Shatara Johnson came in fourth place, crossing the finish line in 3:45.18.
